MUSEO DEL PUEBLO DE GUANAJUATO
Museum exhibiting archaeological pieces, miniatures and paintings with religious themes dated between the 17th and 19th centuries
Housed in the former residence of the Marquis de Rayas, built in the 17th century, this museum, opened in 1979, exhibits archaeological finds, miniatures and paintings with mainly religious themes (17th and 19th centuries). The architectural ensemble is surprising in its superimposition of styles and materials, as the central patio faces the chapel's magnificent Churrigueresque facade of carved stone, which itself houses a beautiful contemporary fresco.
