MUSEO CONDE RUL
Typical house of the golden age of Guanajuato, neoclassical style, wedding gift of the Conde de Valenciana to his daughter and son-in-law
This is a typical house from the golden age of mining in the city, completed in 1800 as a wedding gift from the Conde de Valencianato his daughter and Don Diego Francisco de Rul y Calero, a Spaniard who had a career in the army. It is a fine example of the neoclassical style in Mexico: a sober and elegant facade with a balcony and a wrought iron balustrade, and a patio of pink ashlar. It was from its large windows overlooking the Plaza de La Paz that the explorer Alexander Von Humboldt observed the magnificence of the city.
