CASA DE ALFEÑIQUE
Museum to discover old objects, some of which belonged to Porfirio Diaz
Built in 1790, this beautiful house owes its name to the decoration of its façade, which seems to be made in the image of a local sugar factory, thealfeñique. Converted since 1926 into a museum, its 19 rooms contain codices from the 16th century, old objects, some of which belonged to Porfirio Díaz, and paintings depicting the battle of May 5, 1862, or scenes from the colonial era. On the first floor, you can visit the house as it was inhabited in the 18th and 19th centuries. In all, no less than 1,500 pieces present the history of the city and its inhabitants.
