GRANDIR À ANTSIRABE
Growing up in Antsirabe is an association whose general objective is to guarantee the fundamental rights of street children in Antsirabe. The association opens its doors to travellers to present its work and offer them activities. This includes an awareness workshop on the situation of street children in Madagascar, a meal shared with the local team and participation in one of the "Day Activities" organized several times a week for street children: DanseLaRue, BiblioPousse and CinéRue. These activities are a way to meet the children and offer them a moment of leisure outside the logic of survival that punctuates their daily lives. Every Tuesday, the team of educators and volunteers organizes an hour of collective dancing with a mobile sound system, on Thursdays, they walk around with a rickshaw transformed into a library to give the most disadvantaged children access to books, and on Fridays, they install a video projector for an open-air cinema screening!
