HÔTEL HYPPOCAMPO
Installed for several years in former offices of the converted port, this luxury guesthouse style hotel has already seduced many travellers... Initially appreciated by business customers, the address is now rather frequented by tourists, who appreciate the relaxed atmosphere that reigns there. The establishment has eight bedrooms and three suites on two floors, on the seaside, with a lovely swimming pool and a massage room. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, telephone, Internet connection, satellite TV with DVD player. The suites, even larger, are decorated with a small bar, a lounge and a bathtub. All the units are well decorated and perfectly equipped. Hippocampo now organizes a barbecue party every Sunday, very nice and copious, ideal to recharge the batteries and relax by the pool. Anita, the Italian owner, watches over the grain, she is very active in tourism in Tulear, particularly in the organization of the Vez'tival which takes place every year in August.

Les plus écolos crieront au scandale, à juste titre, en voyant les deux pauvres lémuriens se morfondre dans une cage. Une honte.
But charging 280k ariary for the cheapest room? The TV had incurable static, and so few channels that I spent a surreal evening watching 10 year old re-runs of a low budget Australian travel channel that seemed more like a money laundering effort than genuine reporting; it left me wishing I was at Niagra on the lake watching dinner theater (Oh Canada , eh; which was voted best dinner show in Ontario twelve years running ) . At least then I would have felt like I deserved it.
I did not get sick eating there.
