Every Wednesday, in Analaiva (25 kilometers from Morondava), the largest zebu market in the region is held. It is spectacular. To get there, you have to go by sea, then follow the seasonal coastal track on land in the direction of Manja (only in the dry season). This market is an opportunity to find yourself in the midst of zebu breeders and their animals, a whole other world, which allows you to realize the importance of these animals for the population, even if in recent years this culture has been heckled by the theft of zebus practiced en masse.

Dans le typique village de Analaiva a une vingtaine de kilomètres de Morondave sur la côte ouest de Madagascar, en y passant un mercredi j'ai eu l'occasion de vivre et d'assister au plus grand marché de zébus de la région, le nombre de zébus est assez impressionnant et l'ambiance aussi ! Le marché aux zébus nécessite le détour car c'est un moment assez animé : un grand nombre de zébus sont attroupés en dehors de la ville occupant parfois toute la chaussée et une fois arrivés, on entend les négociations entre acheteurs et vendeurs qui veulent vendre leurs bêtes à meilleur prix.
