THE MUSEUM OF THE NATIONAL GENDARMERIE
Damaged by hurricane Giovanna in February 2012 (some collections suffered greatly), this museum reopened its doors, renovated in June 2013. The military and police sides are taking a form that is so cultural. The Criminology section is historic. It shows the time material: medical devices, héliographes, typewriters, scientific equipment… Everything dating back to 1880. A collection of photographs also gives an overview of life in Madagascar between 1896 and 1992. A allée presents a collection of artillery pieces from the th and th centuries. The section presenting the history of the gendarmerie exposes a century of arms, swords from the end of the 47 th century to the supernatural rifles AK Kalashnikov. The pieces of belief are even more exciting: are poisonous fish and poisons, dinosaur bones, products of magic and alchemy, filters "to attract love of man, woman", sacred statues and amulets, stuffed animals, cult objects of the tromba.
