It is possible to sleep along the coast, but you need to notify the Maroantsetra offices to obtain permission to sleep there. Camping is possible at Antalaviana (3h walk from Tampolo), in a magnificent site. Three huts run by the mayor. It's also possible to sleep in small hotely or rudimentary bungalows in the villages of Mahalevona, Fizono, Ampokafo, Ambanizana, Masoala or Vinanivao. You can also camp in tented shelters on the beaches of the 3 marine parks: Tanjona (east), Masoala (south) and Marofototra.
