This museum contains several rooms where archaeological and geological pieces from the province of Sabaragamuwa, to which Ratnapura belongs, are presented. It also includes anthropological and zoological exhibits. Among the exhibits are traditional masks, trinkets, kitchen utensils, jewellery, and weapons, including a sword said to have belonged to Ehelepola Nilame, governor of Ratnapura during the reign of the last king of Sri Lanka, Sri Vikrama Rajasinha.
