BOGODA WOODEN BRIDGE
Bogoda Wooden Bridge is located on an old road that linked Badulla and Kandy, some 10 km south of Badulla. Considered to be the oldest surviving wooden bridge in Sri Lanka, it is believed to have been built in the 16th century. It is the only roofed wooden bridge on the island and its architecture shows the influence of the Kandy Kingdom style. It allows to cross the Gallanda Oya river. The nearby Buddhist temple, with its beautiful murals, is believed to date back to the Anuradhapura Kingdom in the 1st century BC.
