CEMENTERIO PLAYA ANCHA
Large cemetery built in 1887 with magnificent mausoleums, small, discreet and colourful crosses and a flower-bedecked grave
Built in 1887, it is the largest cemetery in the region. You'll feel like you're walking through a real small town since you can visit it by car! It offers superb views of the coast and the Pacific Ocean. You will see magnificent mausoleums, small discreet and colourful crosses, but also the flowery grave (and full ofex-votos) of the intriguing Frenchman Emile Dubois, who was the talk of the town in the early 20th century. A walk full of mystery and very interesting off the beaten track.
