Cerro is home to the city's sumptuous and impressive cemeteries, which feature the steles of wealthy families.
Going up Cumming Street, we arrive at the sumptuous cemeteries of the city, on Cerro Panteón. The Cementerio No. 2 and the Cementerio Católico surround the Cementerio de Disidentes. The Cementerio de Disidentes was reserved for non-Catholics, and housed mostly English Protestants and Jewish people. These cemeteries are really impressive for the beauty of the steles of the rich families but also for their high location, as if the souls of the dead reigned unchallenged and hovered above the city.
