Old museum created in 1893 in Punta Arenas, exhibiting ethnographic evidence and documents on the history of the missions.
Created in 1893 by Salesian missionaries, it is the third oldest museum in the country. It exhibits ethnographic testimonies and documents on the history of the missions. We learn more about the different ethnic groups that lived in the region before the Westerners decided to dislodge them: Tehuelche, Yamanas (or Yaghan), Qawasqár (Alakalufe), Selk'nam (Onas)... We will also learn more about the flora, fauna and the local history of oil.
