Center d'histoire et d'archéologie de la Métabetchouane in Desbiens offering an interesting reconstruction of a trading post.
The Centre d'histoire et d'archéologie de la Métabetchouane (Metabetchouane History and Archaeology Centre) evokes regional archaeology since prehistoric times, as well as the history of the mouth of the river, a key site for human exchanges and contacts from the Amerindian era to the present day. It features an interesting reconstruction of a trading post, with archaeological artifacts and barter objects on display. Also on site: a powder magazine classified by the Monuments Historiques, a wood-fired oven, the reconstitution of a chapel and the Jean de Quen Memorial.
