BORJ NORTH
Northern Borj faces its twin in the south of the city. Built in 1582 by Saadien Ahmed el-Mansour, the building was modified under the alawis dynasty; the four corners were equipped with spearhead angles, allowing a more effective defence. Borj houses a very interesting museum where you can discover a collection of weapons of the age. It was transferred from the Batha Museum in 1963, and the majority of the weapons present came from the Makina, a weapons factory based in Fez in the th century by the Sultan Moulay Rachid. The museum therefore proposes a chronology of different types of armaments in history, the age of stone in the twentieth century.
