Capitol, is like the dwelling place of God, housing a few columns standing on the podium and an altar at the foot of the steps
It must be imagined as it was at the time of its splendour, emblematic of the city at its height... The Romans considered it as the residence of the god he welcomed and its statue recalled his presence with the living. Today, only a few columns stand on a podium, no longer supporting anything. They were reconstructed and the missing parts were filled with bricks. At the foot of the steps, the altar, where the faithful gathered, was probably intended for animal sacrifices during official ceremonies.
