MEDERSA BOU INANIA
Medersa Bou Inania, with its terrace and inner courtyard, is one of the most classic and best-preserved in Morocco
Like most of the medersas in Morocco, this one was built during the Marinid dynasty and completed in 1358 by Sultan Abu Inan, who gave it his name. It was used until 1964. Its interior courtyard, of the most classical kind, is perhaps one of the best preserved in Morocco. All around it, sections of pierced walls, worked in cedar wood, connect pillars decorated with ceramics. It is interesting to walk around to discover the cramped student cells. On the first floor, a staircase leads to a terrace from which one can admire the superb minaret.
