THE SOUKS
Authentic Meknes souks, with local crafts, babouche stalls, butchers and greengrocers
Nejjarine Street and Sebaghine Street contain most of the souks. The ones in Meknes are much more authentic than those in Fez. The babouches stands are next to the butchers and the futures, all in a great effervescence. By Nejjarine Street, often protected from the sun in summer, you will find most of the local handicrafts you could bring back from your trip as souvenirs. For an even more authentic market, do not hesitate to visit the ramparts, from the Dar Jamaï Museum to Bab Berdaine.
