House where Father Charles de Foucault lived in Tissint.
A relatively unknown fact, Father Charles de Foucault stayed here during his reconnaissance of Morocco, before creating his famous hermitage and dying in Algeria, near Tamanrasset. This Alsatian priest, canonized in the summer of 2022 by Pope Francis, notably traveled through the mountainous regions of the Atlas and the confines of the Sahara disguised as a Jew to explore and map this part of the world then unknown by the policies of the French state.
