PIERRE-ET-PAUL CATHEDRAL (ПЕТРОПАВЛОВСКИЙ ПЕТРОПАВЛОВСКИЙ)
Built from 1611 to 1613, it is the oldest church in Minsk. The defensive character of its architecture shows that initially it was supposed to serve as the south outpost of Minsk Castle. When at the end of the th century the Uniate church was declared in Belarus, for almost two centuries (th-century) Cathedral Saints-Pierre-et-Paul remained the only Orthodox church in Minsk. In the 1930 s, like most churches in Minsk, the cathedral was closed and turned into a deposit. After the Second World War, there were houses and then archives. In the interior you can find beautiful frescoes of the th and th centuries. The façade revolves around Renaissance and Baroque elements.
