PERSPECTIVE OF VICTORY (ПРОСПЕКТ ПРОСПЕКТ)

Built in the 1960 s, this 9 km perspective runs through the Svislač. It is an excellent example of planning and urban architecture at the time: on one side of the river, there are administrative and commercial buildings, and on the other side a huge green zone. It is the famous Parc de la Victoire (Парк Победы), the largest in Minsk. Next to the park, on a small butte, is the majestic monument in Minsk, the hero city of the USSR. Alongside this 45 metre obelisk, there is another monument linked to the Second World War: the statue of a woman symbolizing Mother, Fatherland, Victory and Glory.
