Inaugurated in 1989, the museum is actually comprised of contraband objects confiscated at the border. There is a beautiful series of icons from the th and th centuries, a collection of paintings including works by Aivazovsky and M, furniture from the late th century, but also a rare collection of Fabergé eggs.
