CASTLE (ЗАМОК)

Navahroudak Castle is located on a hill at the bottom of Lienina Street. The only way left is ruins that return to the distant past when the city was the capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Its construction began after the coronation of Mendog in 1253. At the beginning, the castle was wooden, but at the end of the th century it is rebuilt in stone and takes the form of a citadel with seven towers. This construction, which was seen from afar before arriving at Navahroudak, resisted the seats of Teutonic Knights, Tatars and Princes in Galicia. It was destroyed during the Northern War (1700-1721). From its heights, a beautiful view opens onto the city.
