PUSTYNKY MONASTERY (ПУСТЫНКИ ПУСТЫНКИ)

The monastery was founded in 1380 on the place where the Virgin Mary appeared at one of the princes of Mstsislaw, probably the Prince Simeon. It was then rebuilt in the th and th centuries. At the beginning of the 1839 th century, the monastery moved to the uniate confession and became orthodox in. In Soviet times he housed an orphanage. Abandoned in the 1970 s, work was recently undertaken by the government as part of the national historic heritage restoration program. Nestled in a remarkable natural setting, the monastery now hosts four monks. According to a legend, a miracle has occurred here: the face of Christ appeared one day on one of the walls.
