To the east, at the foot of a hill, the remains of a vast temple of Amun, meters long, emerge from the sands. The visitors are welcomed by two rows of bélier statues, symbolizing Amun, in the way of the temples of Jebel Barkal and above all of Karnak. The two hypostyles halls are the best preserved from all over Sudan. Basically, in the sanctuary, the stele dedicated to the god-god, erected by Natakamani and his wife, sovereign of Merowe in the first century of our age was reconstituted. By returning, you will see, in the alignment of the corridors and columns, a hill in the distance. It is behind this hill that is supposed to sunset at the summer solstice.
