CATEDRAL SAN PEDRO Y SANTA CECILIA
Renovated neo-Gothic cathedral with 3 naves, large stained glass windows imported from France and a replica of La Pietà
Inaugurated in 1905, it has three naves, large stained glass windows imported from France and a replica of La Pietà. The cathedral was financed by collecting funds from the wealthy people who had their summer homes in Mar del Plata at the beginning of the last century. In 1957, Pius XII created the diocese of Mar del Plata and established its headquarters in this building. In 2005, on the 100th anniversary of its inauguration, it was completely renovated.
