LAGUNA DE LOS PADRES
A small lagoon on the outskirts of Mar del Plata, which has become a popular spot for fishing and other water sports
To the east of this small lagoon, near Mar del Plata, the Jesuit missionaries, the first settlers of the region, founded in 1776 the Reducción Nuestra Señora del Pilar, a mission to establish contact with the indigenous population. The mission has been reconstructed and the park is a pleasant place to stroll. Today it is a place of leisure, where people come to practice fishing in particular, but also other water sports. It is also a meeting place for locals who come here to asados on weekends.
