The main interest of a stay in Mar del Plata is of course the sea. Beaches are divided into balnearios. In summer, podiums are installed on each beach and offer concerts, entertainment, TV shows... To the north of the city centre lie the lively beaches of the La Perla complex. The buildings in the downtown embankment watch over Playa Punta Iglesia, Playa Popular, and the famous Playa Bristol. A little further south is the Playa Varese and its nautical base, then comes the chic but equally crowded Playa Grande, popular with surfers.
