MULLERTHAL TRAIL

This beautiful adventure is the result of a great hiking tradition in the region that dates back over 300 years. Its three routes (38 km, 26 km, 36 km) will delight both those who enjoy a sporty walk on uneven terrain and deep nature lovers. Routes 1 and 2 can start and finish in the town of Echternach (but can also be walked at several points along the way). Similarly, Route 3 can, for example, be initiated from the village of Mullerthal, which is the connection point to Route 2. These routes are completed by four "ExtraTours" named A, B, C and D; to which one can add numerous local trails. A well-designed Mullerthal Trail Pocket Guide is available from tourist information centers. The entire Mullerthal Trail, 112 km, takes 3 to 6 days to complete.

A European quality label. Since January 2014, the Mullerthal Trail has been awarded the distinction "Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe". This quality label is valid for 3 years and is awarded by the European Hiking Federation. The Mullerthal Trail, taken as a whole, takes in all the remarkable natural sites of the region, such as the Wolf Gorge, the Schiessentumpel waterfalls, the Manzebach river or the Hallerbach valley. The entire route is well laid out and signposted so that it is accessible to both beginners and advanced hikers.
