Located on the Place de la Constitution, a stone's throw from the Casemates de Pétrusse, the Monument du Souvenir Gëlle Fra (meaning "golden woman" in French) was inaugurated in 1923 in memory of the Luxembourg soldiers who fell at the front during the First World War. This monument is a must in Luxembourg City and consists of a 21-meter high stone obelisk. At the top of the obelisk is a golden woman holding a laurel wreath towards two soldiers.
