Don't miss his visit if you go to the Grand Duchy in summer, the only period when its doors are open.

The residence of Grand Duke Henri! Located in the old town, this building was erected in the 16th century by the city's master builder, Adam Roberti, on the site of a Franciscan church. Destroyed by a terrible gunpowder explosion in 1554, the palace, which then served as the town hall, was rebuilt 20 years later. The left wing, with its façade decorated with arabesques, can still be admired in its original form today. In 1859, the building was extended by the Chamber of Deputies, built to the right of the Palace.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the building became a government hotel and the official residence of the king's governor. It was not until 1890 that the Grand Duke Adolphe took possession of the palace, which then became the official residence of the sovereign of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Further restoration work was carried out in the mid-1990s, giving it its current appearance. In addition to its Flemish Renaissance style, the Hispano-Moorish influence of the facade will appeal to you. The solemn changing of the guard in front of the palace takes place only once a month and only from June to September. During July and August, the palace opens its doors to Luxembourgers and tourists, who can admire the interior. The net profit from the sale of tickets is donated in full to the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess Foundation, which supports projects for children and works to combat all forms of exclusion.

Beautiful facade in an architectural style with various influences. Its length, in a not so wide but busy street, will complicate the photographer's task. Unfortunately, openness to the public is very limited. It's also worth a moment at a town trip.
