During the Second World War, the Hollerich railway station was one of the main departure points for young people forcibly conscripted into the compulsory labour service (RAD), Jewish deportees and political deportees. Today it is a place of remembrance, the Deportation Memorial, and houses a museum. The latter includes different sections: German occupation, Luxembourg resistance, Jewish persecution, forced recruitment, deportation.
