The CNL is housed in a large bourgeois house built in the Baroque style in 1788. It was home to the Servais family, who exerted great political and economic influence on the country. The center holds literary works dating from 1815 to the present day in the country's three languages, and aims to promote Luxembourg literature. The reading room is open to the public (by reservation) and contains 25,000 books and other documents.
