SIDE OF THE BERLIN WALL
On November 9, 1989, the Berlin Wall came down with a hammer and a circular saw. This historic event paved the way for the implementation of the Schengen Agreement. Almost 35 years later, relics of the Wall remain in the German capital and in various other parts of Europe. Since February 8, 2010, a 3.60m-high section of the Berlin Wall, which stood near the Sony Center at the time, has been erected on the banks of the Moselle in Schengen, just in front of the European Center. It embodies the opening up and disappearance of European borders.
