FÊTE DU GENÊT (GEENZEFEST)
One of the most important folklore events. Floats parade through the streets, forming the traditional corso.
The Festival of the Broom(Gënzefest or Geenzefest in the local dialect) is one of the Grand Duchy's most important folk events. First held in 1949, the festival honors the yellow-flowered shrub, and is therefore organized during the season when the Oesling hills appear in their golden garb. The houses of the town of Wiltz are then decorated with the magnificent shrubs, while floats parade through the streets, forming the traditional corso.
