HAMPDEN BRIDGE
This bridge, adorned with magnificent crenellated stone turrets, offers a highly picturesque view of the Kangaroo River over which it spans.
Adorned with magnificent crenellated stone turrets, Hampden Bridge is a true architectural masterpiece. With its castle and medieval bridge look, it offers a very picturesque view of the Kangaroo River which it spans for 77 meters. Built in 1898, it is the oldest wooden suspension bridge still in use in Australia and the most photographed monument in Kangaroo Valley. It is true that its moat and its gothic towers attract the eye! It was named after Lord Hampden, Governor of New South Wales from 1895 to 1899.
