XINJIANG MUSEUM
On the ground floor you will see a beautiful model of the region in 3 D.
The first room on the right (always on the ground floor) displays relics and vestiges from the stone age to the Qing dynasty, including beautiful remains from the silk road.
The second room on the left (at the same level) presents the habits and customs of the inhabitants of Xinjiang. That is: typical costumes, habitats, jewelry worn at ceremonies, musical instruments… The lives of 47 nationalities are exposed and mainly the lives of 12 of them: uighur, Kazak, hui, khalka, Mongolian, xike, Tajik, Uzbek, daur, manchure, tartare and Russian.
On the first floor, the most right room exhibits an exhibition (which should be temporary but does not seem to be, since it is more than 10 years ago) of jade. Then the room on the right center exhibits a mummified body exhibition which is undoubtedly the museum's "nail". Indeed, this room identifies all mummies (some of which are over 3,800 years old found in the remains of the silk road). In accompanying these mummies, we can learn more about the funeral practices of this part of the world.
Finally, the last room (still in the second) presents clothing discovered in the remains of the silk road.
The whole is interesting enough so, but especially for those who love history.
