KARAKORUM ROUTE
The Route road is the SILK road itself. It marks the entrance of Pakistan, via the Due Pass (4 800 m) and above all via the Pamir plateau (3 000 m). Vestiges of this and of this, but above all of breathtaking landscapes and - it must be admitted - a taste of Pakistan today very difficult to access (that is the least we can say…).
You can take this road, even if you do not want to go to the border countries in Stan; but especially to visit Karakul lake.
The round-trip from Kasghar along this mythical road is easy in the day. Plan to leave early in the summer so as not to be stunned by the heat of the afternoon. Take something to restore, even if your guide should have thought of everything for you.
