It lives up to its name. In 1925, this former printing house(typografio in Greek) was the birthplace of the now-defunct daily newspaper Foni Naxou-Parou ("The Voice of Naxos-Paros"). Spread over three modern terraces around a beautiful six-century-old building, this restaurant, considered THE reference on Naxos, blends Hellenic and Mediterranean flavours. The menu is creative, based on regional products. Some waiters speak French. Excellent wine list. Reservations recommended. Not to be missed!

Owner's Message
In the area of Farangas, at the foot of the castle, Antonis Hampas founded the Typografio in 1925 where he published the first daily newspaper of the island "I foni Paros-Naxos" ("The voice of Paros-Naxos").
After some 80 years, in 2004, the old building was restored and transformed into a picturesque restaurant. The kitchen, characterized by an ancient stone wall on the background, is open and accessible to our customers. This way, they can discover our dishes and travel in the magic world of gastronomy.
The restaurant "Typografio" has three terraces on different levels and two courtyards of an old-fashioned house, witness of a bygone era. Our guests, while admiring the old town and its castle, the wonderful sky of the Cyclades, taste a mixture of Hellenic and Mediterranean flavors. The menu is creative with a strong Greek and international influence. Our kitchen uses mainly regional products.
With its family environment, ambient music, the restaurant "Typografio" favors a romantic dinner, a traditional family meal, a business meeting. The varied menu can satisfy all tastes. As for food, it's a bit more expensive than most places around. The appetizer with cheese and pastry is really good, as well as the one with beans. The filet is very tasty! My girlfriend enjoyed a nice lamb.
