MUSEUM OF THE BIG DAWN FORGE
This complex of buildings, managed by an association of enthusiasts, is an incredible testimony to ironworking
This complex of buildings, managed by an association of enthusiasts, is a testimony to ironworking. Made possible by the presence of the river, which provided water and transported materials, iron bars and then copper were produced here from the 16th century onwards, until the site was closed in 1939. Today, vast buildings with monumental chimneys remain, as does a lovely adjacent park. Tip: twin ticket with the Musée de la Comtesse de Ségur.
