Villa in the bay of the Ombla river belonging to the powerful Renaissance families, seat of the center of Croatian history.
The Sorkočević, wealthy merchants and ship owners, were among the most powerful Ragusan families of the Renaissance period. They built their villa in the bay of the river Ombla. It is now part of Dubrovnik's ACI Marina and houses the Centre of Croatian History. Its architecture and grounds are a perfect example of the High Renaissance. While the interior of the villa can be visited by appointment, the park is freely accessible and is a beautiful place for walking with its water features and Mediterranean vegetation.
