Every year in Djanet, the Sebeiba marks the 10th day of the first Muslim lunar month. An age-old celebration, its origins lie in ancient agrarian rites or in the peace sealed between two tribes, putting an end to years of war... It brings together the Tuareg and neighboring populations in a symbolic war, staged by dancers dressed in magnificent costumes and finery, to the sound of women's choirs and traditional instruments. Since 2014, the festival has been inscribed on Unesco's List of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
