FORMER MIXED TRIBUNAL

Mixed courthouse with a square Clock Tower and Moorish-inspired architecture.
At the heart of the square, the mixed court has quite an appearance; even if its architectural style is more reminiscent of a Tunisian mosque than an Egyptian administrative building. The tower that dominates it, called the Clock Tower, is square in shape and resembles a Maghreb minaret. In fact, its architecture is totally inspired by the Moorish style! The green gates of the court are forged with scales of justice. The mixed courts in Egypt allowed cases opposing Egyptians and foreigners to be handled.
