Nearly two million people come to celebrate this Sufi saint, of Moroccan origin, who lived in the 13th century and settled in Egypt, after a pilgrimage to Mecca and after performing several miracles. He is said to have gathered around him some forty disciples. Sayid Ahmed el-Badawi remains today one of the best known molds of Egypt. His tomb is located in Tanta, where, during 8 days, people come to celebrate him from all over the region.
