Fort macarthur was built at the end of the nineteenth century to serve as a military post. During the Cold War, the fort became the place for the launch of privileged nuclear missiles in Southern California (there were then sixteen similar places in the region). The history of the fort is exhibited in the museum among other things through military uniforms, old photographs and missiles (disarmed).
