LA PURISIMA CONCEPCIÓN MISSION STATE HISTORIC PARK
Purísima Mission State Historic Park is a Spanish mission located in Lompoc, California. Founded in 1787, it has been restored to represent the 1820s era. The park is open most days for self-guided tours, and free guided tours are also offered at 1pm. Visitors can experience life at the mission through demonstrations of crafts such as weaving, pottery, candle making, blacksmithing, animal husbandry and leather working. The park also features a visitor center that tells the story of the mission from a multicultural perspective. Parking is charged at $6 for private vehicles and $5 for seniors aged 62 and over. The mission is easily accessible from Highway 101 by taking exit 140A for Buellton/Solvang - Highway 246 - and continuing on Purisima Road.
