William S Hart Museum
The house of William S. Hart houses his personal collections of exceptional basketry, costumes, and other items.
This is the ranch left to the public by silent film star William S. Hart (1864-1946). After making his debut as a Shakespearean actor in the late 1900s, he gained fame for his portrayal in Ben-Hur in 1907. His home, the Loma de Los Vientos, houses his personal collections of exceptional basketry, ceremonial costumes and Native American furniture. In the living room, the naturalized head of a huge bison - who died of natural causes - that was part of his herd, was a gift from Walt Disney Studios.
