SACRE COEUR CHURCH
This Art Deco-inspired church was built in the 1930s.
Situated in the Belle-Époque district, where the sumptuous villas of Bagnoles de l’Orne stand, the Art Deco-inspired church overlooks the spa town. Built between 1934 and 1935, its all-white, neo-Moorish facade features a waterfall in reference to the Bagnoles spring, while the floral and aquatic themes of the stained glass windows (restored by Chartres master glassworker Charles Lorin) and pillars pay homage to Saint Thérèse of Lisieux and Psalm 42. Its qualities have earned it the label Architecture Contemporaine Remarquable.
