BUDWEISER BREWERY EXPERIENCE ST. LOUIS

A visit to "the world's largest brewery", according to the brochure, is a must. If not the largest, it is certainly a beautiful factory that brews some 40 different varieties of beer and malt liquor. The main brands marketed by Anheuser-Busch (the group formed by the takeover in 2008) are Budweiser, Busch, Michelob and Natural Light. For non-experts, Budweiser is simply THE American beer par excellence. Often called the queen of beers, this light beer is the most consumed in the country although its taste is rather insipid. You will be able to taste other beers on the spot or to buy some at the store which also sells derivative products: T-shirts, jackets, pens, etc. Several different tours are offered for multiple experiences and multiple prices (if you don't settle for the basic free tour). If you choose the Bud Light tour, for example, you'll start your tour with the stables and their horses. These belonged to Adolphus Busch when the brewery opened and they are a major part of the soul of this brewery. The draft horses - the clydesdales - will be the standard of the brand, very often featured in Budweiser advertisements. Then you will visit the ageing cellar adapted to the beer before going back to the historical brewery. Finally, you will see how the beer is bottled and packaged.
