ST. LOUIS UNION STATION
A former railway station transformed into a hotel and leisure complex in St. Louis.
St. Louis Union Station is a former railroad station, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Once the largest train station in the world (over 100,000 passengers per day in 1940), it was converted into a hotel and entertainment complex in the 1980s. However, it is still used by Metrolink for local services. The gigantic building dates from 1894 and is definitely worth a visit. Inside: mini-golf, ice palace, ropes course, carousel, aquarium... and a magnificent historical hall.
